We were officially chartered on the 16th October 2016 which kickstarted our ability to aid the community and others. We hosted a celebration of our charter on the 31st March 2017 with special guests; Aberaeron Rotary Club, Aberystwyth Rotary Club, District Governor: Steve Jenkins (District 1150) and Assistant Governor: Carol Ramaya (District 1150).

Throughout the end of September our club put on a variety of events for Fresher's Week at Aberystwyth University. This week was a huge success consisting of a pizza party, pub bingo and the first of our pub quizzes.

During the summer of 2019, a few of our members got to help out our charter club Rotary Aberaeron at the Aberaeron Festival of Welsh Ponies and Cobs, the 'Gwyl Merlod a Chobiau Cymreig Aberaeron'! Malcolm, Alun, and Aimee here making sure there isn't too much horsing around...

In June, two of our members had the pleasure of speaking about the formation and growth of our club at the District Conference in Swansea! This was an amazing opportunity and experience for our club and we look forward to speaking at the District Assembly later in October 2019.

A few of our members helped out once more marshalling for the Aberystwyth Cycle Festival in May! We also had a stall along the promenade where we got to promote our club and show people how they can help out in the local community.

Almost a month after our Regional Event we finally got hand over the cheque to Alzheimer's Society UK. A whopping £330 was raised and we cannot thank you all enough for your support to such a great cause!

On the 5th of April we celebrated our 'old' and 'new' committees with our annual Handover Night. Thank you all for regularly stepping forward and doing so much, for contributing in so many ways. Thank you all for demonstrating what 'Fellowship Through Service' means. And finally, thank you for giving us all a grand example of what we can aspire to achieve this coming year!

Our Regional Rotaract Event on the 29th-31st of March was a huge success! A massive thank you to those who helped organise the weekend's events and also to those who took part! Not only was this event about celebrating Rotaract, but we managed to raise just over £300 for the Alzheimer's Society UK! A special thanks to Dr. Bernhard Voller for helping us not only raise awareness of Alzheimer's, but also further our knowledge and understanding.

A huge thank you to our photographer Josh Edwards! I hope you all enjoy the photos and I cannot wait to see the rest!

The 21st of February we had a meeting with our sponsor club; Aberaeron Rotary to hold a presentation on the use of Facebook and how it can be used to spread awareness of both Rotaract and Rotary clubs. For many of our members it was the first time meeting the President, so it was a great opportunity to build bridges within Rotary.

On the 1st of December 2018, we held our annual charter evening at Y Consti Restaurant. Thank you to everyone who came, it has now officially been two years since our charter an our club has continuously grown in this time. We look forward to the coming year and to see how our numbers grow further.

On the 5th of November 2018 we aided Aberystwyth Round Table in marshalling the annual Fireworks Night at Aberystwyth Rugby Club. We also managed to raise just under £130 for the two clubs which will be used to carry out good causes and fund our future projects.

On the 28th of October 2018 we hosted our last pub quiz in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust. This particular quiz was halloween themes with all sorts of spooky questions about Halloween traditions, fears, literature and films. This quiz was also fancy dress and the best costumes also won prizes. Below is a photo of the winning team with their prizes!

On the 26th of September 2018, our club got the chance to partake in Aberystwyth University's Part-Time jobs and Volunteers Fair. This gave us a huge opportunity to gain new members and spread awareness of the work we do and promote the club itself.

On the 26th May 2018, our club assisted Aberystwyth Rotary and a number of volunteers in marshalling the AberCycleFest similarly to last year. However, this year, we were fortunate enough to have our own stall where we were able to promote our club and the projects we run.

On the 30th of April our club was fortunate enough to have held a meeting with the local MP, Ben Lake to discuss the possibility of setting up collection boxes for used mobile phones in the local community in aid of Wales Air Ambulance. This meeting was a huge success and we are extremely grateful to have his support and are looking forward to future opportunities that this will bring.

For Sport Relief 2018 we held another bake sale at Aberystwyth University where we sold all kinds of treats. In total we raised £50.20 so thank you to our pro bakers who spent a whopping 10 hours on a baking mission the day before and a huge thanks to the generosity of Aberystwyth Uni students and staff for their donations.

Thank you to all who came and a special congratulations to our new officers on their new positions and may the next year be as incredible as the last.

On the 3rd of March, our members were invited to the 70th anniversary of Aberystwyth Rotary's charter at the Marine Hotel. It was nice to build bridges and make contacts with various members of their club as well as their guests of the evening.

On the 25th of February we met with a representative from Dementia Friends and Hafal Crossroads where we were informed on the charities and what they aim to achieve and dementia as an illness itself. We also discussed future events and fundraising opportunities.

Throughout the year we organised several pub quizzes in aid of of a variety of charities such as; Mary's Meals, Air Ambulance Wales and Teenage Cancer Trust UK. All of our pub quizzes were hosted at Harry's Bar and Bistro where many bottles of wine have been received by our victors.

Towards the end of May 2017 we helped marshal the Aber Cycle Fest for the weekend. This involved keeping the public off of the race track during races and aiding people crossing. Luckily the weather was on our side, and some of us even got sun burned (yes, even in Wales).
At the end of March we organised a visit to Hafan y Waun Residential Home where we spoke to and spent time with the residents and later had a sing song.
